Richard Kasper of Bassano, Alberta, Canada is in the testing stage of his Artic Cat 650cc snowmobile engine powered Sabretooth. Richard has had a super amount of modifications made to his v-twin engine & now estimates horsepower to be in the 120hp range.
Here are photos taken Oct 6th, 2002 of Richard's Sabertooth after a day of awesome riding. Richard has rigged up a temporary gas tank (red-above) only for testing. He plans on adding a new tank in the near future.
Power is not a problem for this beast. It can easily shoot dirt for 30 feet from these 25" ATV tires!
Richard still needs to purchase & install his front & rear coil-over-shocks. He has temporarily braced both the front & rear suspension so he can move it around & work on it with ease.
Arctic Cat twin cylinder 650cc snowmobile engine with CVT system. Richard built his own layshaft mount & covered housing for the CVT (layshaft) in which he is running a chain drive back to the central driveshaft.
Foot pedal boxes were manufactured by Badland Buggy. Richard has mounted the throttle pedal box on the right & the brake pedal box on the left. With the adjustable seat glider installed, just about anyone can drive this automatic transmission & still reach the foot pedals.
