RICHARD's ALBERTA SABRETOOTH Richard Kasper of Bassano, Alberta, Canada is in the testing stage of his Artic Cat 650cc snowmobile engine powered Sabretooth. Richard has had a super amount of modifications made to his v-twin engine & now estimates horsepower to be in the 120hp range.
Richard still needs to purchase & install his front & rear coil-over-shocks. He has temporarily braced both the front & rear suspension so he can move it around & work on it with ease.
Here are photos taken Oct 6th, 2002 of Richard's Sabertooth after a day of awesome riding. Richard has rigged up a temporary gas tank (red-above) only for testing. He plans on adding a new tank in the near future.
Arctic Cat twin cylinder 650cc snowmobile engine with CVT system. Richard built his own layshaft mount & covered housing for the CVT (layshaft) in which he is running a chain drive back to the central driveshaft.
Power is not a problem for this beast. It can easily shoot dirt for 30 feet from these 25" ATV tires!
Foot pedal boxes were manufactured by Badland Buggy. Richard has mounted the throttle pedal box on the right & the brake pedal box on the left. With the adjustable seat glider installed, just about anyone can drive this automatic transmission & still reach the foot pedals.
